Irish Setter Trailblazer Hunting Boot Options Increase

Irish Setter Trailblazer
RED WING, MN (December 2010) — Due to popular demand, Irish Setter has added more Trailblazer mid-height boots to its line of hunting boots. These boots share the proven combination of materials and special features resulting in a lightweight — yet heavy-duty — hunting boot with a height that allows for more active hunting. These waterproof, non-insulated Trailblazer boots are great for hunting environments that require scrambling and a wider range of motion.

New models #871 and #872 are leather/fabric hunting boots providing a new look and enhanced breathability for hunters looking for an alternative to the full-leather Irish Setter Trailblazers.

“These boots help you conquer the rugged terrain you encounter when you’re pursuing elk. Perfect for scrambling up steep slopes,” said Mark Dinndorf, Director of Irish Setter Product and Marketing for Red Wing Shoe Company. “These boots eliminate an entire area where boots could rub against skin and cause a hot spot. They also allow freer muscle movement in the calf area, minimizing constriction on steep slopes when muscles are working their hardest.”

All Irish Setter Trailblazers combine a variety of features which contribute to their comfort and durability. The genuine leather welt construction provides some flexibility with enough rigidity and torsion control for stability on uneven terrain.  And the cushioning of the Comfort Cork EVA with Memory Foam and ScentBan Odor Inhibitor footbed comes standard on all models.

The suggested retail price for new Irish Setter Trailblazers is $159. The new styles in brown leather/fabric (#872) and brown leather/fabric with 400 grams of Thinsulate Ultra Insulation (#871) will be available July 2011 at leading outdoor sporting goods retailers. The Trailblazers in rich dark brown leather (#867), full-grain black (#868) leather and rugged brown nubuck (#878) are available now.  Visit http://www.irishsetterboots.comfor the retailer nearest you.

A little heavy for hiking but they fit and roll down the trail eating up miles like a machine on WFO. And you want to talk about durable? They last and I’m brutal on boots. Quality contruction, you bet. ResoalabLe? Damn straight! Tough? They punish cactus. If you have a pair of these on and some jackass ties you up and puts you in the trunk of car you WILL be able to kick your way out even if it’s an old Buick. Buy two pair before they wise up and start charging what their worth.
