JACKSON KAYAK INTRODUCES HIGHLY INNOVATIVE FLEX DRIVE SYSTEM

2017-Coosa-FD5

Jackson Kayak with Flex Drive System

SPARTA, TN (July 2016) – Jackson Kayak has designed a patent-pending prop-driven pedal system which allows for hands-free forward and reverse propulsion for kayaks. Named the Flex Drive, it consists of a daggerboard-protected tri-prop propeller which, combined with unique articulation of the prop system, gives the Flex Drive increased performance over other drives and helps keep the system clear of obstacles and easy to clean. Jackson Kayak’s Flex Drive System can quickly adapt from deep to shallow water navigation without having to move the main pedal drive unit.

The Flex Drive is easily deployed with the flip of a lever, has adjustable pitch prop blades and a 12:1 ratio. An interchangeable electric motor-driven head unit is in development as well for release at a later date.

“We wanted to develop a pedal system that addresses the real-world problems and needs of serious kayak anglers – problems like launching and beaching without having to move a cumbersome system; being able to push over obstacles; simple loading and unloading from car rack systems; versatility and flexibility for a wide variety of water conditions, etc. The Flex Drive solves those problems, and is an exciting new addition to the Jackson Kayak lineup of innovative solutions for kayak anglers,” explained Damon Bungard, Jackson Kayak Product Manager.

The first kayaks with this innovation will be the Coosa FD with an emphasis on kayak fishing and the versatile Cruise FD. Jackson Kayak’s Flex Drive system will roll out at Jackson Kayak dealers early 2017.

Print

Orion 45

SPARTA, TN (March 2015) –Orion Coolers announces the introduction of the Orion 45 – the most versatile cooler in its line of premium, rugged coolers. Striking a nice balance between portability and capacity, the Orion 45 is well suited for everything from day use to week long adventures. It’s sized for high portability, while still having the ability to carry common items like 2L bottles, bottle of wine, or case of cans.  A great choice for outdoor enthusiasts, anglers, kayakers and hunters, the Orion 45 makes a great standing platform for casting and has the capacity for boned-out quarters from small to mid-sized game. The suggested retail price for the Orion 45 is $449.

All Orion Coolers feature innovations unique to the premium, rugged cooler market:

  • Multi-color, camo plastic blend exteriors make every single Orion cooler unique. Pick from Forest Camo, Jungle Camo, Sky Camo or Dorado
  • YakAttack gear tracks allow for adding accessories without drilling. Add holders for fishing rods, phones, cups, cameras, fish finders, GPS and more with RAM accessory integration
  • Four aluminum tie down points at each corner that double as bottle openers and two additional tie down points on either side for secure transport
  • Low-profile, camming latches that are hinging for ease of use and snag-free when loading or using the cooler as a fly fishing casting platform
  • Lockable via padlocks on the corners, both to secure the cooler and to seal it shut
  • A grippy standing pad comes standard with all Orion Coolers providing a stable, comfortable platform when standing or sitting.
  • Strong, motorcycle-style carry handles with reinforced climbing ropes provide long lasting comfort and sure grip in tough conditions
  • MADE IN USA for quality craftsmanship and rugged construction. Orion Coolers are molded by molding experts right next to Jackson Kayaks in Sparta, Tennessee
  • Constructed with a rugged, roto-molded polyethylene shell and at least 2” of insulation  for durable performance
  • A solid thermoformed plastic tray inside the cooler allows for drainage but won’t let smaller items fall through like they would with standard wire mesh trays found elsewhere
  • A removable, Princeton-Tec AMP1 light, provides lighting inside the cooler at night or remove it for use around camp at night. This Made-in-USA waterproof light easily twists on and off and includes a flood lamp cone to illuminate the cooler contents with soft light. Remove the light and cone and you have a high power LED light for use around camp, on the boat or anywhere you need it. It also has a bottle opener on it.
  • Smart, real-world sizing accommodates common items like wine, 2 liter bottles or a case of cans that can stand upright. They also fit on common hitch haul carriers, behind a kayak seat and within airline baggage requirements (model dependent)
  • Available in three sizes – Orion 25, Orion 45 and Orion 65.

Orion Coolers announces the release of the Orion 25. The Orion Cooler 25 is compact and highly portable for shorter outings and day or weekend use. It’s easily transported by canoe, car, kayak, SUPs and ATVs. Perfect for small game or running to the grocery store, the Orion 25 retails for $369.

The Orion Cooler 65 is the right size for longer adventures and bigger jobs where capacity starts to become a priority over portability. The 65 serves groups well for multi-day trips or well attended tailgate parties. It’s easily transported by canoe, raft, truck, or even small planes and has the capacity for quartered big game, larger fish and/or food for a week. Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price is $499.

IRISH SETTER® CREATES KNEE BOOT THAT’S 50% LIGHTER THAN TRADITIONAL RUBBER BOOTS

SH04893C_WEB_NA_0913

RED WING, MN (December 2013) — New for Fall 2014, Irish Setter Rutmaster RPM knee boots are 50% lighter than traditional Irish Setter rubber boots. Their seamless design makes them waterproof and durable. RPM Technology is a breakthrough composite material that significantly reduces the weight of the boot for extreme comfort and added durability. The one-piece upper and sole also incorporates RPM material under foot for cushioning. Rutmaster RPM boots feature Irish Setter’s proven ExoFlex™ Performance Fit System for improved fit and easy on/off convenience. An Airmesh lining wicks moisture and allows air flow, while ScentBan™ eliminates foot and other odors. The Mud Claw RPM sole’s tread design offers an aggressive lug pattern for superb stability and traction, facilitating the release of mud and dirt.

  • Style # 4893 is a 17” pull-on knee boot in Realtree Xtra®camo, $174.99
  • Style #4895 is a 17” pull-on knee boot with 400 grams of Thinsulate® Ultra insulation in Mossy Oak® Break-Up Infinity® camo, $184.99

The original Rutmaster line became popular with hunters because of its revolutionary secure, comfortable fit provided by the patent-pending ExoFlex™ Performance Fit System. The ExoFlex™ panel in the back of the boot shaft expands to accommodate the back of the foot for easy entry. Then the panel contracts for a lock-tight, high-performance fit in an easy on/off waterproof, scentproof boot. All Irish Setter Rutmaster 17” knee boots feature a slim, comfortable profile. Rutmaster RPM boots are available in whole sizes from Men’s 8-14.

New Rutmaster RPM boots will be available in July 2014 at leading outdoor retailers. Visit www.irishsetterboots.com for the retailer nearest you.
